Tom and Elaine Burns Specialize in Ct Lake Property

Lakes are dotted throughout northeastern Ct and we are familiar with all of them, we have sold lake homes for many years and Woodstock Ct is one of our favorite Ct towns with some of THE most stunning homes and bucolic rolling hills to be found anywhere. The lake areas tend to have a real “New England” feel to them with pine trees and winding roads. Lake Bunggee is one of my favorites as well as it’s sister lake, Witches Woods. The two lakes are right next to each other with an earthen walkway and a dam separating them. Both lakes allow power boats and water skiing along with great kayaking, swimming, fishing, etc – all the amenities of lake life are here!

Some of the homes are very expensive and others are more rustic with a cottage feel to them, pretty much what you find on most lakes throughout Connecticut.  Here you will find this  fun and funky sign – it is on one of the roads on Lake Bunggee, maybe the beavers made it!  We love helping our clients find just the “right” lake property - believe me, sometimes it takes a while to find just the one they want.  We understand the process, we have owned lake homes for years and whenever a new property comes on the market we check it out because not only does each property have unique qualities, every lake has different qualities as well – it’s like going on a treasure hunt!

Coventry Lake in Coventry Ct

Peaceful lake views at Coventry lake in Coventry CT on a late summer day.  Coventry lake area has for many years been highly sought after for vacation homes, year round homes and second home retreats, we have helped many people buy and sell lake homes on this, one of our favorite lakes, for many years. Having lived in the area all my life and spending all  my summers on the lake when I was younger, I know the lake very well - the island is still there, and the Lake Associations are still the same. The area HAS changed alot since the early 1700′s when the entire area around the lake was used as a hunting ground by the Indians, it then was divided up into 8 farms when Coventry first became a town in Connecticut.  Going back to the early 1900′s this premier Ct lake had a dance hall, merry-go round and beaches available for visitors and residents to enjoy.  Great history and a great lake!

Chandra Lownes and her little girl Sohia were happy to win the “Guess How Many Skittles are in the Jar” contest! Sophia is adorable and I think a new camera may be on the horizon for her mom to take lots of pictures of her and her brother Thomas.

We held the contest at the Mansfield Ct Festival on the Green and are already planning what kind of contest to have for next year festival.

How beautiful is this – this is the dam and spillway between lower and middle Bolton lake. Bolton lake is located in both Bolton Ct and Vernon Ct with a peaceful serene lifestyle for those lucky enough to own a home there.

Classic New England Countryside Hebron Ct

A classic New England scene – fields of corn, beautiful oak trees and stone walls lining a country road. This is why I love where I live…….and the sounds of the seasons are unique too – the fall sounds are so peaceful that I am lulled into thinking that winter is still a long way away……..

The UConn Marching Band played at the opening of the Festival on the Green and marched in the opening parade. The Burns Real Estate Group booth was the perfect place to take it all in!

Our 12 year old grandsons “toss” game was a hit too – and no matter where the toss bag landed everyone won candy!

Lots of people entered in the contest for a $100 Visa card and snacked on popcorn while counting the skittles!

The Burns Real Estate Group Storrs Ct – Tom and Elaine Burns

Here’s our booth at the annual Festival on the Green, Tom and I  popped a lot of popcorn and, as usual, spent a lot of time talking and catching up with friends who came by to say hello – it is always such a fun event for us!

Beautiful Andover lake in Andover Ct is considered on of the cleanest lakes in Ct and we have loved this lake and the surrounding area for many years. The lake is privately owned and managed and is approximately 159 acres in size. There are no powerboats allowed on the lake which adds to the peacefulness of the area.  Andover lake homes  are highly sought after and the location of the lake and town is perfect for a short commute to UConn, ECSU or Hartford. Less than a 2 hour drive to Boston and about 2 1/2 hours to NYC make this a perfect year round home location or a weekend retreat.
